“Working with SIN, specifically Dr. Soya, has hugely changed my outlook on powerlifting training. The week to week programming has especially been useful in my progress because it feels more collaborative and attentive to my needs as a client. Instead of following a program that’s rigid and has been laid out for a month (with the assumption that there are no external factors that might affect performance), week to week programming takes these external factors into account to encourage the client to perform movements that are appropriate to their current physical/mental state.”

“I was really discouraged with basically all of my lifts before I started training with Liam and SIN as a whole. Squats especially was the largest hurdle but after working with me and straightening out tech work my worst lift easily became my favorite and I have way more confidence with it.”

“Since starting with Sin, I’ve not only added a lot of pounds to my total, but I’ve met people that I call family and I’ve been welcomed with open arms”

“I started working with Liam in May 2020. I was coming off a few months of no training due to lack of equipment during the COVID shutdowns. Prior to joining SIN, I had accumulated a 1600lb raw with wraps total in the 308 weight class. Once starting back up, it was apparent I had lost significant strength and mobility which set up a huge mental barrier for me. Liam became as passionate about my return to lifting as I was through the entire start up process, and assured me that although my lifts aren’t where they were, we will go farther than I had been prior. He allowed me the freedom to ask questions while expressing any of my concerns, aches, pains, or issues, and still held me accountable to my own goals. This helped break down the mental barriers and rid me of the self-doubt I had accumulated during my time off.
Less than a year in we’re hitting PRs in a lower weight class without wraps and gaining confidence to the point where I can now see how high my ceiling really is.
This sport is a mental game just as much as it is a physical one, and having the right people in your corner can be the difference between staying stagnant and raising your own ceiling. Joining the SIN family was the best decision I made for my lifting career, and I’m confident it would be for many other lifters.

“I’ve been working with Coach Philippi for over a year now and have had tremendous improvements in all aspects of training. Nick is very knowledgeable when it comes to programming and as a coach, transparent in what he programs for said client and why he does. As well, unlike most, Nick is always communicative and quick to reply in times of his assistance.”

“Before I signed up for coaching, I was in complete awe of the extraordinary dedication, resilience and strength of the SIN athletes and specifically coach Liam. Though I have only completed one training block so far, I have already seen HUGE improvements in my technique and confidence (as well as some PRs that I didn’t know were possible). Even after I sustained a minor injury this block, Liam expertly manipulated my program so that I could still make progress, and he knew exactly how we could work through it. It is evident that he is extremely knowledgeable of programming, and he has done such an incredible job analyzing my training and helping me understand what I need to work on. I walk into every session knowing I am in excellent hands, and I feel unbelievably fortunate and proud to be one of his lifters. I cannot wait to compete in a few months and show the world what we have built by then.”
